Job Description
This full-time Tech Recruitment Manager role at Monzo is open in London or as a UK remote position. The tech hiring group fills engineering, product, data and design posts throughout the company, from hands-on specialists to senior leadership. This is a player-coach post: the manager runs a small recruiting squad and still carries live searches personally. It suits someone who enjoys developing people as much as finding strong talent.
The manager sets hiring strategy for a tech business area and acts as a trusted hiring partner to executives and senior stakeholders. The remit covers building hiring plans and org design with executives, and coordinating with the workforce planning team and business hiring heads so the team concentrates on the most valuable roles. The manager coaches recruiters through difficult hiring problems, gives considered feedback, supports career growth and balances priorities and workloads as business needs change.
The manager also carries a personal set of open requisitions and works with hiring managers to design assessment processes, question assumptions where needed and deliver a strong candidate experience from first conversation to offer. Hiring quality is central: the manager uses data, market insight and candidate feedback to refine processes, promote inclusive practices and source proactively, while sharing competitor and market intelligence with hiring managers and the team.
Candidates should bring substantial in-house recruitment experience in tech functions such as product and engineering, and have managed or coached recruiters before. Experience hiring across levels, from mid-level roles through senior manager and director positions, and strong sourcing skills for reaching passive candidates are expected. Useful extras include managing hiring across several locations or hybrid teams, recruiting for high-growth scale-ups, and building recruitment processes at scale. The posting lists a competitive salary, incentive awards, a £1,000 annual learning budget and a home-working setup.
