Job Description

Halter sells virtual fencing technology that helps farmers and graziers run more productive, sustainable operations without conventional fences or dogs. It is hiring a Territory Manager to cover the Black Hills region of South Dakota. The manager serves as Halter's local representative, creates new business, and keeps current ranch customers satisfied. Frequent travel is central to the role.

The work mixes field prospecting with account management. Prospecting means visiting ranches, attending cattle auctions and livestock association meetings, and following up on inbound interest. Field selling takes place at kitchen tables, from the saddle or from a vehicle on a pasture. The manager also grows existing relationships, runs a pipeline against monthly goals, hands customers to onboarding and deployment staff, and collects feedback that informs product and support teams. The role helps shape the US sales approach and attends events such as CattleCon. Some days involve riding horseback or helping customers gather cattle.

Candidates should have a history of generating new business, negotiating sales built around value, and managing a large territory with both sales and customer success duties. Ranching or cattle experience helps the manager understand what matters to customers and is valued. Bonus background includes precision agriculture or virtual fencing, customer-facing agtech roles or B2B software sales. The listed pay is USD 140,000 to 190,000 per year.
