Job Description
Airalo presents itself as an eSIM store built for travelers, serving them in more than 200 countries and regions. It reports over 400 people in more than 60 countries and says it is fully remote by design. This full-time, permanent VP of Public Affairs role is listed in the United Kingdom and open to remote work in Spain or the UAE as well as the UK, with English as the main working language. The posting frames it as a substantive policy and advocacy job rather than a comms-led job with a government-relations side.
The VP stands up Airalo's public affairs capability starting from zero and manages its relationships with regulators, policymakers and industry bodies. Responsibilities include setting the global public affairs strategy to match market expansion plans, choosing outside advisers and lobbying firms market by market, and eventually growing a small team. The VP also sets up an early-warning system that watches policy horizons so regulatory change can be seen coming early.
Day to day, the VP works with ministries, telecom regulators and consumer protection bodies in priority markets, joins consultations, hearings and trade association panels, and builds relationships with officials and industry peers. The role follows regulatory movement across Asia-Pacific, EMEA, LATAM and North America, shapes Airalo's stance on eSIM licensing, personal data rules, consumer protection, digital markets and cross-border telecoms, and provides regulatory assessments for new markets with Legal and commercial teams.
The posting asks for ten years or more in government relations, policy work or regulatory affairs, whether in-house at a technology or telecoms company or at a consultancy serving that sector. A record of shaping regulatory outcomes across several jurisdictions and a solid grasp of telecoms and digital economy regulation are required. Applications and correspondence must be in English.

- Represent Airalo in consultations, hearings, parliamentary inquiries and trade body groups
- Draft and maintain Airalo's positions on licensing, privacy, consumer protection, digital markets and cross-border telecoms
- Give regulatory assessments for new geographies alongside Legal and commercial teams
Requirements
- Ten or more years in government relations, policy work or regulatory affairs
- History of shaping regulatory decisions and running government relations work in multiple jurisdictions

- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Strong political judgment to present Airalo's interests in terms officials find relevant
- Comfort running a remote role across time zones in a quick-moving commercial environment
Qualifications
- Preferred: experience overseeing outside affairs firms and consultants in multiple regions
