PointClickCare is hiring a Vice President, Product Operations for a remote position in the United States. The role reports to the Chief Product and Technology Officer and leads the Product Operations function, which sets up and scales the processes, governance, planning rhythms and operating cadence that support delivery across the Product and Engineering organisation. The position is full time.
Core work includes running annual, quarterly and continuous portfolio planning for Product and Engineering teams, leading cross-functional planning sessions and portfolio reviews that weigh strategy against capacity, dependencies and resource trade-offs, and tracking portfolio health. The VP also builds dashboards and executive reporting that inform investment decisions.
The VP works alongside Product, Engineering, UX and UI, Finance and Strategy leaders to improve coordination, raises the standard of product management through frameworks and tools, and develops the leaders and staff within Product Operations. Remote hires may be asked to attend in-person events at the Mississauga or Salt Lake City offices, such as onboarding and periodic team meetings.
Applicants should hold a first degree in a business, engineering, computing or information systems discipline, with a graduate degree as an asset. The VP should bring more than a decade of rising leadership in product operations, portfolio work, PMO, product management or strategy within a complicated technology organisation.
Responsibilities
- Lead annual, quarterly and continuous portfolio planning across Product and Engineering
- Chair cross-functional planning meetings and portfolio reviews that weigh strategy, capacity and dependencies
- Design governance that promotes openness, accountability and sound decisions
- Track portfolio performance and delivery health, and recommend ways to make delivery more predictable
- Own the development and refinement of Product Operations processes and standards
- Set up planning rhythms, portfolio check-ins, operating forums and governance routines
- Work with business colleagues, UX/UI designers, Engineering and Product to improve coordination
- Build dashboards, operational metrics and executive-level insight for portfolio reporting
- Build product management capability through standards, frameworks, tools and best practice
- Identify operational risks and dependencies and propose ways to mitigate them
- Mentor and grow Product Operations leaders and staff
Requirements
- First degree in business, engineering, computing, information systems or a closely related subject
- More than ten years in escalating leadership roles inside large technology firms, covering PMO, portfolio, strategy, product management or business operations work
- A record of running planning routines, governance structures and portfolio processes that keep multi-team delivery on course
- Ability to persuade senior leaders and create alignment across Product, Engineering, Finance and Strategy
- Strong analytical and strategic judgement, using metrics and reporting to support planning and executive decisions
- Experience growing managers and specialist staff, covering development and performance management
- Excellent communication and stakeholder skills across executive teams and complex structures
Qualifications
- MBA or an equivalent postgraduate degree in management or a technology-related field
- Experience supporting Product and Engineering in SaaS or healthcare technology, or in similar tech-led settings
- Background in refining planning, governance or portfolio methods through periods of expansion or restructuring
