Canva is hiring a Business Development Representative to focus on the Higher Education and public sector market out of its Austin, Texas campus. The person in this role will introduce the platform to campus leadership, faculty, and administrators, demonstrating how the product simplifies workflows, enhances learning experiences, and fosters visual communication across academic institutions.
This role suits recent graduates or early-career professionals who possess strong interpersonal skills, organization, and a motivation to hit performance targets. Team members collaborate closely with sales, product, marketing, and customer success teams while utilizing tools such as Salesforce, Pocus, Outreach, and Gong to cultivate pipeline. Canva operates from its Austin office Tuesday through Thursday, with the flexibility to work remotely or from the office on Mondays and Fridays.
Responsibilities
- Partner with Sales teams to identify and pursue strategic opportunities within academic systems, colleges, and universities
- Generate pipeline through outbound methods including cold calling, social selling, and email outreach to campus leadership, faculty, and marketing teams
- Align the company platform to institutional priorities such as digital transformation, student engagement, and accessibility
- Collaborate cross-functionally with product, marketing, and customer success teams to support public sector campaigns
- Utilize software tools like Salesforce, Pocus, Outreach, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, ZoomInfo, and Gong to manage pipeline
- Meet weekly, monthly, and quarterly performance objectives
