Job Description
The platform gives revenue teams a store of roughly 210 million business contacts and 35 million organizations, plus built-in outreach tools for working through them. Founded in 2015 and said to serve more than 500,000 companies, it completed a Series D round in 2023 and counts Sequoia Capital and Bain Capital Ventures among its backers.
This full-time, remote position centers on growing Apollo's partner program. The partner development manager identifies and vets agencies, consultancies, and solution providers, moves them through certification and onboarding, and works each one toward an early milestone: a referral that qualifies or a customer the partner manages. The posting calls it a builder role, since the program is still taking shape, and the manager runs a book of roughly 40 to 60 partners at any time.
The job suits someone with five or more years in partner development, channel sales, or business development, preferably in B2B SaaS. The right person can tell a partner with real potential from one with passing curiosity, and can get partners of every technical skill level ready to sell. Decisions include whether to promote a partner into Apollo's named-partner tier, shift them to automated nurture, or set them aside.
Responsibilities
- Find candidate partners through inbound applications, customer referrals, market research, and nominations
- Rank each candidate against the Ideal Partner Profile before spending meaningful time on them
- Keep a live list of 40 to 60 partners in active cultivation
- Identify each partner's segment, specialty, ideal customer profile, and delivery approach
- Separate partners with a true Apollo-centered plan from those who are only curious
- Walk partners through certification and onboarding
- Help partners shape a clear Apollo offer, referral method, or delivery service
- Get partners ready for their first customer conversation about Apollo
- Push each partner toward an early, measurable result such as a referral, a registered deal, or a managed account
- Monitor progress on an activation plan partners can also see, with defined checkpoints and targets
- Hold a consistent rhythm of meetings with each partner and recommend a next step: named-partner status, automated nurture, or deprioritizing
- Partner with Partner Operations on data and reporting quality, and with Partner Marketing on recruiting campaigns and enablement content
Requirements
- Five-plus years in partner development, channel sales, or business development, ideally at a B2B software company
- Experience taking agencies and consultancies from first conversation to completed onboarding
- Can run a multi-step pipeline across a book of 40-plus accounts
- Sharp judgment in qualifying partners
- Solid program-management ability, including building the process while running it
- Clear, assured communicator who can train and certify partners with varied technical backgrounds
Qualifications
- Familiarity with the HubSpot or Salesforce agency and partner networks
- Use of partner scoring or qualification models, such as an Ideal Partner Profile or a lead-scoring model
- Hands-on familiarity with PartnerStack, Crossbeam, or similar partner tools
- Work history inside a go-to-market or RevOps setting, or with agency firms that build on sales engagement or data software
- Has built or operated a partner training path tied to certification
