GoCardless is seeking a Partner Solution Engineer III to join its team. Operating as part of a global bank payment network that processes billions annually across dozens of countries, the company delivers bank payment solutions, open banking, and recurring transaction platforms to more than one hundred thousand commercial clients.
In this technical lead position, the individual will manage relationships with software platforms, payment service providers, and digital ecosystems that offer bank payment features. The role requires collaborating alongside the partnerships department to handle technical discovery, draft system integrations, build demonstration prototypes, and support partners through their final launch phases. Ideal candidates enjoy solving complex problems, engaging in consultative discussions, and analyzing detailed technical systems.
The compensation package for this position features a base salary spanning from £62,400 to £93,600 per year, accompanied by a 30 percent OTE bonus structure. Responsibilities
- Lead technical discovery sessions with prospective and current partners to translate needs into solution designs using partner APIs like Embed and Connect
- Develop and present demonstrations and proofs of concept illustrating bank payments inside partner products
- Support partners through integration testing, webhooks, failure handling, and launch readiness
- Collaborate with the partnerships team to qualify, shape, and close opportunities
- Create integration assets such as guides, sample code, Postman collections, and checklists
- Keep tooling updated with emerging practices including MCP and agentic commerce
Requirements
- Experience working in a pre-sales, post-sales, or implementation engineering capacity directly with clients or partners
- Hands-on API expertise including navigating Postman, analyzing logs, and debugging requests
- Working knowledge of OAuth, webhooks, and standard integration patterns
- Programming proficiency in at least one common language
- Understanding of how application programming interfaces and MCP servers operate
Qualifications
- Experience constructing integrations involving payment service providers or digital platforms
- Familiarity with alternative payment methods, cards, open banking, and Direct Debit
- Background working with multi-tenant models or software platforms
- Regular application of artificial intelligence utilities in daily engineering tasks
