Cresta is hiring a Senior Forward Deployed Engineer specializing in AI Agents to join its remote team. The company operates a unified conversational AI platform that provides real-time human agent augmentation and conversation intelligence to major organizations such as United Airlines, Cox Communications, and Marriott. Originating from the Stanford AI Lab, Cresta is backed by prominent investors like a16z, Greylock, and Sequoia, and is led by CEO Ping Wu, formerly of Google.
In this position, you will build, set up, deploy, and refine AI agents using the company platform, while connecting them seamlessly to external systems. The role involves working closely with clients and internal software and machine learning teams to execute high-impact deployments. You will act as a trusted technical advisor, lead live demonstrations and proof-of-concept presentations, gather user needs, and supply critical feedback to product and engineering groups. This opportunity is suited for a self-motivated, analytical engineer who enjoys solving practical enterprise challenges using modern artificial intelligence.
Responsibilities
- Develop, configure, launch, and refine AI agents leveraging company tools and platforms
- Connect AI agents with external systems including APIs, databases, and CRMs
- Tune agent configurations and prompts to resolve issues within complex enterprise setups
- Partner with customers and internal groups to gather technical needs and translate business objectives into solutions
- Run interactive product demos and present proof-of-concepts to prospective clients
- Establish project timelines, outline implementation strategies, and coordinate execution for timely delivery
- Channel field insights back to product and engineering groups by building custom tooling and highlighting gaps
- Advise customers on adoption best practices, security considerations, and scalability planning
Requirements
- At least three years of professional full-time experience in software development, consulting, AI/ML engineering, or forward deployed engineering
- Strong proficiency in Python and Golang for writing clean and efficient code
- Familiarity with cloud platforms including AWS, GCP, or Azure
- Experience with DevOps practices covering CI/CD, containerization, and monitoring
- Hands-on background integrating external systems through webhooks, APIs, and data pipelines
Qualifications
- Bachelor or Master degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline
- Practical background working with large language models and prompt engineering techniques
- Solid grasp of AI agent frameworks, function calling, and retrieval-augmented generation systems
